The Goals of the Education Programme

Marmara University is located in Istanbul and one of the biggest universities in Turkey. The hospital of the School of Medicine is the biggest hospital located in Asian side of the Istanbul. Arthroplasty Division is one of the most active team in Orthopedic Surgery Department, and is performing many primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty surgeries.

The scope of Arthroplasty Fellowship Education Programme in Marmara University covers the management of primary and secondary degenerative conditions of hip and knee joints as well as the assessment and treatment of the patient with a failed arthroplasty. Primary and revision total joint replacement is emphasized; the fellow will also gain experience in joint preserving surgery options.

The main objective is to expose the fellow to the full spectrum of hip and knee arthroplasty issues including preoperative care, patient and implant selection, operative techniques and postoperative care. The fellow is going to have a well-balanced research and clinical experience during the program. Also there is daily and weekly rounds and educational meetings.

Prerequisites of the Education Programme

Applicant must;

· be under 45 years of age,
· have five or more years of specialised orthopaedic training,
· speak fluent English and/or Turkish

· Application Letter explaining the reason for the application
· Letter of Recommendation from current Head of Department
· Registration to Researcher Information System (ARBİS)
· Recent Health Certificate (including lab results for blood tests)

1 to 6 months long
6.000 TL (VAT included) per 3 months
