The educational program known as STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Mathematics) in the world is starting at Marmara University under the name BİTEKMÜSEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art Education-Mathematics)! With this educational program, which will be given to students at the primary school level, taking into account pedagogical principles, it is aimed to convey difficult-to-understand subjects and competencies in a way that will increase students' interest and motivation in their lessons.
The trainings, which will be given five class hours a day, will start with the Robot Construction Workshop, followed by the narration of analytical geometry with the art of origami, making mathematics enjoyable with music, and basic music education. At the end of the 25-hour training, our students who have grasped the logic of robot programming will be entitled to receive the BİTEKMÜSEM (STEAM) certificate of participation organized by Marmara University Continuing Education Center. Click here to access the Booklet of Future Professions Studies Program Output With this training program, students will receive a 25-hour integrated robot construction and robotic coding training with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art Education, and Mathematics. Content of Mathematics Lessons Point, line, and plane. Transformation geometry. origami... We start from the point; we move the point, we reach the line. We move the line, we reach the plane. We are experiencing a transformation. We examine the properties of simple geometric shapes including point, line, and plane with the help of the mathematics of origami. We draw an equilateral triangle from square paper and circular paper; we examine mathematical objects in 3-dimensional space. Then we fold a box; we question the concept of space from the concepts of width, length, and height, we divide a length into three, five with the help of origami. We create a regular pentagon by tying a knot from a rectangular strip. We draw attention to the subject of area divisions in the plane. We progress from part to whole with the help of modular origami. We distinguish points, lines, and planes in all these transformations. We examine... We develop our mathematical thinking while learning with fun. We establish connections that we have never noticed in this mathematical space and we take a trip to the real world with 360-degree videos.
